Frequently Asked Questions || Mavrakis Nutrition

I’m juggling a lot. Will this be realistic?

I hear you! Absolutely. Most of my clients are also navigating busy seasons—whether that’s work, caregiving, school, or all of the above. I focus on realistic, sustainable strategies that fit into your life (not take it over).

My goal is for our sessions to actually give you energy and time back—by cutting down the stress and mental load around food, so you can focus on feeling like yourself again.

My family member has [x] medical condition— I feel worried this makes me at higher risk. How can you help?

You’re not alone—and yes, there’s support.
A lot of clients come to me feeling worried about their risk for conditions like diabetes, high cholesterol, blood pressure issues, cancer, or heart disease due to family history.

We can explore nutrition through a preventative lens—without diving into restrictive diets. My approach focuses on nourishment, ease, and building habits that support your long-term health while helping you feel good in your day-to-day life.

I have a history of disordered eating. Can I still also work on my [x] other medical condition with you?

Absolutely—and it’s something I’m deeply passionate about.
I specialize in bridging the gap between medical nutrition support and disordered eating recovery. You don’t have to choose between supporting your health and healing your relationship with food.

We’ll move at a pace that feels safe and personalized, using gentle nutrition strategies that honor both your physical health and your emotional wellbeing.

I have several medical conditions— is this practice the right fit for me?

Yes— in addition to eating disorder care and preventative nutrition, I have experience supporting clients with PCOS, autoimmune conditions, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, fatty liver, insulin resistance, diabetes/pre-diabetes, and nutrient deficiencies.

I regularly dedicate time to continuing education, so you don’t have to be the one piecing everything together. And if something falls outside my scope, I’ll always be transparent and help you find a provider who’s the right fit.

Which disordered eating symptoms / eating disorders do you support?

I work with a range of eating disorders and disordered eating experiences, including:

  • Anorexia
  • Bulimia
  • Binge Eating Disorder
  • ARFID (Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder)
  • OSFED (Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorder)
  • Orthorexia
  • Disordered eating symptoms

Not sure where you fit? That’s okay.
I’m here to support you in finding clarity and the right path forward.

What ages do you work with?

I see adults at any age, and adolescents (ages 12+).

Will this be covered by my insurance?

Most clients with in-network insurance have fully covered nutrition counseling visits, though it’s always important to verify your plan’s benefits. I’ll provide a step-by-step guide to help you check your insurance coverage.

If you’re paying out-of-pocket, self-pay sessions are available for $140 per 55-minute session, and HSA/FSA cards are accepted.
